What the Sellers Loved About Living Here

Dear Home Buyer,

We were introduced to the joy of houseboats in 1988 through a friend and if we weren’t traveling with him we would houseboat sit for him. Then when our four children were out of college and launched, we decided to find our own floating home.

We looked at many floating homes on the lake before finding this one on this spot. When found, we loved the location and views but not the houseboat. We had our good friends (architect & designer) help us design what has been a perfect fit for us these last 26 years.

We have enjoyed the community & have hosted an annual Halloween party for our dock neighbors. We love jumping in our kayaks to tour the lake & visiting our friends that also live on houseboats.

It is like living in a vacation spot every day. We hope the next owners enjoy it as much as we have & I am sure they will.

Welcome to The Log Foundation houseboat dock in Seattle WA

Consisting of 52 floating homes, the Log Foundation is the largest houseboat co-operative in Seattle. Three docks make up the co-operative: 2017, 2019, and 2025 Fairview Ave E.

The co-op purchased the three docks from Freeman-Gibson-Jeffery in 1984 for $2.6 million. A unique aspect of the purchase was the graduated price scale which allowed nearly half of the sites to sell for $40,000 even though the whole dock’s price actually works out to $50,000 per site. “Reverse mortgages” also made it possible for a number of retired and fixed-income people to keep their homes.

Testimonials

Dan F.

Danny just recently helped me purchase a Lake Union houseboat. He was absolutely fantastic and I highly recommend him. He is extremely responsive, professional, and is well informed and connected. Any issues that came up were handled quickly and with my best interest in mind. I will definitely be a return customer.

Susan

We had the pleasure of working with Danny on a challenging off market property sale. Danny has some of the best knowledge of and relationships with floating home owners….more than any other realtor in our experience. That expertise enabled us to secure a specific, off market floating home. Danny was tenacious and creative throughout the process. Danny Varona matches the property opportunity with the best buyer.

Heather B

Danny is the best! We are really happy with our new floating home purchase. Danny was easy to work with, competent and extremely helpful during the entire real estate search and purchase. Buying a new home is really stressful and it was wonderful to work with someone really knowledgeable and helpful that we could trust.

Gerry and Tanya

Danny Varona-Marin was our real estate agent in selling our houseboat. He guided us through all the changes and obstacles that were going through the real estate market during this period of time. And we had to sell it in time to avoid a significant income tax penalty. Through his efforts and knowledge of the current market we are happy to say he did so!!!! WHAT A RELIEF! We highly recommended this fellow without any hesitation. He is kind, easy to work with, and smart.

Jay W

Danny, is responsive, knowledgeable, kind, honest, easy going, and personable. What else could you want when making a big decision. Also, inspections, were set up promptly and he made sure to fit around my schedule.

David T.

Danny was instrumental in putting our floating home on the market by helping to stage it, arrange for minor repairs and putting the sales information on many media platforms. We had an offer on day 2 and he helped to shepherd the process to closing in a very professional manner. We would highly recommend Danny as he has a feel for the particularities of floating home sales and is easy to work with even when challenges arise during the process.

Lois

It was a pleasure working with Danny on the sale of my floating home. He’s a good listener, knowledgeable about the particulars of floating homes, and attends to details tirelessly. From arranging pre-inspection and repairs, to pricing and marketing strategy, he was outstanding. Highly recommend.
