I’m Matt, of Houseboats of Seattle, and a real estate broker specializing in our city’s unique aquatic homes.
More than just my line of work, the water is where my family lives. My wife and kids and I call Lake Union home, living in a stunning floating home that was even spotlighted in Sunset Magazine. We’ve been proudly rooted in the Eastlake community for a decade now, and there is truly no better place to watch your children grow up.
Our personal journey on the water spans several different docks and properties. Over the last ten years, we’ve called five different floating homes home. We started out renting at the Log Foundation on the 2025 dock, transitioned to a Mallard Cove, and eventually purchased our own floating home. Along the way, we completely stripped a floating home down to the studs for a massive remodel and built a second one entirely from the water up. If you are trying to figure out how to renovate, construct, or navigate the strict regulations of over-the-water construction, I have been through the trenches and am always ready to share what I’ve learned!
We built this website to serve as a comprehensive guide for anyone looking to establish their own roots on the water. My goal is to demystify the buying and selling process and answer the hyper-local questions you can’t find on generic real estate apps.
Of course, a website can only show you so much! If you are considering making the move to a floating home, a traditional houseboat, or a waterfront property, let’s connect. I would love to help you track down the perfect property.
